The music to my left is a great example of suspense music. I would use something like this which gives a mystery effect, and also builds up the tempo to the main scene.
In the music to my right, there is also a steady build up of tempo adding suspense to the audience. This is a convention of the thriller genre, and i will use music like this that is from a copyright free source.
The music to me left is more of action music then thriller, and as I'm doing a hybrid film i thought i would look at a piece of action soundtrack as well. There are is a lot more depth to the sound, and it is more meaty then the thriller soundtrack.
Overall this showed me the codes and conventions of soundtracks to thriller film and i will use everything i have learnt (suspense music, steady build up, mystery effect etc) in my final product.
